Dr. Jason VanDenBrink is a lifelong resident of West Michigan, growing up in Fennville where he graduated High School in 2001. He worked summers and weekends at the Allegan Animal Clinic while attending Michigan State University for college and vet school. He is a 2009 graduate of Michigan State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine and is still an avid Spartan fan. That spring he started as an associate at Allegan Animal Clinic. In 2014 Dr. VanDenBrink decided to purchase the clinic, and pursue his passion to help animals. In 2009, Dr. Jason VanDenBrink married Dr. Rachel VanDenBrink who is a family practitioner at the Allegan Medical Clinic. In his spare time, Dr. VanDenBrink enjoys spending time with his wife, two dogs and collects antique tractors and vintage root beer items.
Dr. Rachel Mullins grew up in Southeast Michigan & attended Michigan State University, where she earned her BS in Zoology in 2006 & her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2011. She has worked as a small animal veterinarian in Southwest Michigan since graduating & joined Allegan Animal Clinic in June 2020. Dr. Mullins currently lives with her three cats (George, Rex, & Bella) and enjoys gardening, yoga, and reading Stephen King in her spare time.
Sara happily joined Allegan Animal Clinic in March 2020 with years of experience vet assisting, being a kennel aid & working in the front of house as a receptionist. Sara resides in Kalamazoo with her husband, Derek. They have two rescue dogs, Apollo & Mowgli – they are both very spoiled. Sara grew up in Saginaw but lived in Valparaiso, Indiana for 6 years until moving back to Michigan in November of 2019 to be closer to family. Besides her love of working in the veterinary field & being able to make a difference, Sara cherishes spending time with her family & friends near & far. When not working, she enjoys taking pictures on her Nikon, baking homemade dog treats, trying new dessert recipes & having friends over for game night. Sara tries to live by the “do what makes you happy” quote & is very grateful for what she has been blessed with.
Mariah is originally from Virginia but decided to move to Michigan in 2017. She joined the AAC team in March of 2019. She recently tied the knot in September of 2020. Mariah & her husband have 2 German Short-haired Pointers named Earl & Gauge. Mariah has that southern hospitality so naturally calls everyone hunny, dear, ma’am or all the above. You can take the girl out of the South, but you can’t take the South out of the girl.
Bridget has had a love for animals since she was a little girl & has been in the veterinary field for just over 7 years, 3 of which have been with AAC. She has a daughter named Layla & a super cute Bulldog named Wrigley. During her free time Bridget enjoys watching movies, reading & spending time with her family.
Erin became part of the Allegan Animal Clinic family in November of 2016. Prior to AAC, she was a stay at home mom to her 3 wonderful children. Erin enjoys spending her free time with her kids, floating in the lake, sitting by a fire with friends & going on random road trips. Harley joined the clinic family in 2017 at 9 weeks old & has been deemed the 'desk dog' ever since. He is a Yorkie mix & loves to meet & greet clients.
Mackenzie started volunteering at Allegan Animal Clinic in 2017 through the VOTECH Center. She officially joined the AAC team in 2018 & immediately started taking college classes to become a licensed veterinary technician. She graduated from Baker College in 2020 & is now a licensed veterinary technician. Mackenzie has 3 fur babies, two dogs & a cat that are loved very much! When not working she loves going to the beach, baking & enjoying the outdoors!
Rebecca joined Allegan Animal Clinic in March 2020. Prior to that she graduated from Michigan State University with a bachelors degree in zoology. She then interned at Potter Park Zoo as a zookeeper aide. Becca is currently working hard on becoming a licensed veterinary technician. She currently resides in Martin with her fiancé, Luke. They are planning a destination wedding in Jamaica for February 2021. In her free time Becca enjoys traveling & exploring new places. She also likes to spend time outdoors hiking, kayaking & playing catch with her family dog, Maggie.
Meghan joined Allegan Animal Clinic in June of 2020. She has always had a love for animals, especially reptiles & exotics. She graduated from Ross Medical Education Center in 2013 as an approved veterinary assistant. Since then she has worked with shelters & vet clinics as a kennel aid & assistant. Meghan enjoys spending time with her two kids (Taylor & Brayden) which usually includes zoo trips & museum visits whenever possible. She also has four spoiled pit-bulls (Thor, Beyla, Spunk & Brutus) & a ball python (Zeus). She enjoys reading & spending time outside.
Kris has been a part of the AAC team since March of 2019. She has always had a deep love for animals & a desire to work in the veterinary field. She started her journey with AAC as a volunteer in the fall of her senior year in high school. After a few months of work, she was officially hired in as a full time assistant. Kris grew up on a small family farm in Martin & spent many of her teen years working on a small horse ranch in Oshtemo. She currently lives in Plainwell with her beloved German Shepherd, Max. When not at work, Kris enjoys horseback riding, camping, family game nights & watching movies with Max. She loves being able to work with animals everyday & has also enjoyed working as a part time receptionist on occasion. Kris is grateful for her position at Allegan Animal Clinic & can’t wait to see what the future holds.
Kim joined Allegan Animal Clinic in September 2020. She brings many years of healthcare & office work with her. She’s always had a passion for helping animals so working in Veterinary Medicine is a perfect fit. Kim resides in Gobles, on her family’s newly established hobby farm with her husband Brandon, and her daughter Ally, who is a Junior at Allegan High School. Much to her delight, her son Austin & grandson Graysen are just across town. She’s a dog mom to Gunner, a 2 year old Chocolate Lab, & Cap, a 6 month old Cavapoo. In her free time, Kim enjoys cooking a wide variety of things from baked goods to 5 course meals, reading, listening to podcasts, coloring, going to concerts, & traveling. She enjoys spending as much time as she can outdoors by fishing, hunting, camping, & off-roading with her Jeep. Kim has been interested in the arts from a young age. She started creatively writing as a young person and is currently working on her first novel. She has spent the last 10 years traveling the US going to various conventions. Not only has she met some legendary people in the film industry, she’s also made many connections, both personally and professionally with some of those very people. Kim filmed her first role in January of 2019 for a film titled Feaster Sunday. In spite of everything on her plate, Kim is in the process of developing a Podcast. Her two favorite places in the whole world, other than at home with her family, are New Orleans, Louisiana and Maui, Hawaii.
Stacey has been a part of AAC since September of 2001. She is the head of surgery for the clinic. So, you may not recognize Stacey but your pets have met her if they’ve had any type of surgery done at AAC. Stacey grew up in Wayland, Michigan then moved to Gobles after marrying her husband Ryan, in 2006. They have two boys, Paden & Weston. Stacey & Ryan both work hard to keep their little hobby farm looking nice & presentable. In her free time, Stacey enjoys landscaping, antiques & riding her horses & motorcycle.
Laura graduated from Baker College in Jackson as a licensed veterinary technician in 2011. She began her career at Binder Park Zoo in Battle Creek. In 2015, she moved to a mixed practice closer to home to have more time with her family. In 2017, she joined the staff at Allegan Animal Clinic & declared it her “forever clinic”. In 2019 she moved to part-time, working mornings in the dental program at AAC. Laura has a son (2008 model) & raises him on their farm in Gobles. They have three horses, six chickens, two dogs, one cat & nine fish. They board two horses at their farm, as well. Laura is also a small business owner. For fun, Laura loves horse camping with her family, kayaking, fishing, woodworking – both fine & construction, spending hours on the beaches in the Leelanau area, gardening, landscaping & cutting wood.
